The objectives of the Sanatan Society
Free Teaching Fund are :
- To provide free online
teaching at the Sanatan Society websites,
as a first stepping stone towards the real teaching
through our associated teachers or any other
valuable spiritual teachers. While online teaching
is more superficial, it reaches a lot more people.
Since the start in November 2001, the Sanatan
Society websites received over 6.500.000 visitors
(figure June 2005). 2005 is expected to bring
over 5.000.000 visitors. We think these people
have learned something here and hope to have
stimulated them into digging deeper into the
topics that we introduced.
- To support our associated teachers
in regularly organising free teaching events, where
people may be introduced to yoga, ayurveda, etc... without
financial barriers. For many young people that is really
important and often also people that are in dire need of
spiritual input have limited financial means.
We currently offer 3 options for people
that like to donate in support of these objectives :

How your donation will be put to good
use :
The Sanatan Society Committee will distribute
the funds received in donation on an annual basis. First the
basic online teaching efforts will be supported by paying
server costs and other related costs. If the donations level
exceeds those needs, remaining funds will be distributed to
the associated teachers for the organisation of free teaching
events. Every year, the Sanatan Society Free Teaching Fund
will publish an online report on the distribution of the funds.
Background information
Originally we had no intention to set up a donation
system. We were hoping to finance the Sanatan Society activities
through the online sales of art, art reproductions, books,
etc... After 3 years on this path we have come to the conclusion
that it is very hard to make that dream come true. Every year
we get better results, but the investment needed to make money
this way is still so much larger than the returns it brings.
Spiritual people are by their very nature not so interested
to purchase products - which is great of course - and even
if they want to purchase a product few are those who can and
want to do so using a credit card online. As a result, the
free online teaching that is our first and main objective
cannot receive the attention it really merits. We received
so many emails of people that very much appreciate our websites
and request that we install a donation system, so we finally
reached this decision.
