Rob
Obermeijer has been giving yoga classes for 33 years. His
teachers Wolter Keers and Harish
Johari taught him the indian philosophy and way of life.
Apart from running the Utrecht Yoga Center, giving yoga classes
for beginners as well as for teachers, Rob also organises
spiritual trips to India and other locations.
Rob especially enjoys visiting the Kumb
Mela, combined with a Himalayan trip along Gangotri and
other spiritual places.
The point of focus in all the work of Rob Obermeier
is the meeting with the inner being, the most essential part
of man. The path of yoga leads from diversity to unity and
vice versa. On the surface we are all different, but inside
we are all the same. To see and experience this unity is yoga.
The
Yoga Center of Utrecht was founded in 1975. The objective
from the very beginning was to make yoga available for everybody
and to bring yoga classes that are firmly grounded and concrete.
This way, yoga is not only a spiritual practice, but also
simply brings more health, vitality and well-being.
The yoga center works with weekly and bi-weekly
classes that run for a longer period of time. Next to that
the center also organizes specialised workshops and trips.
Joke Mobach, Rob
Obermeijer, Marja Smeets, Ella Steinebach, Joris Jan Trimbos
and Eline van de Veen are the teachers of the center.
